History of German Football
German professional football has a rich history that began in the early 20th century. The first national football league in Germany, the German Football Championship, was established in 1903. However, it was in 1963 that the modern professional league, the Bundesliga, was created, marking the start of Germany’s top football competition.
The Bundesliga quickly became one of Europe’s most competitive leagues, with clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Hamburger SV dominating domestically. Bayern Munich, in particular, became a global powerhouse, winning numerous European Cups and solidifying its status as one of the world’s top clubs.
Germany’s national team also made a significant impact on the international stage. The team won the FIFA World Cup three times, in 1954, 1974, and 1990, and also claimed the UEFA European Championship in 1972, 1980, and 1996.
In recent years, the Bundesliga has maintained its position as one of Europe’s top leagues, known for its strong fan culture, competitive teams, and development of young talent. Clubs like Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund continue to lead the way, and the German national team remains a major contender in international tournaments.
Today, German football continues to be a dominant force, with its leagues attracting global attention and its clubs competing successfully on the European stage.
History of the Infinity Cup
The first season of the Infinity Cup began on Saturday, 8th September 1888.
To determine the initial cupholder, the first decisive match played needs to be identified. Eight matches were played in the first round, all on the same day.

Four matches were decisive, while four ended in a draw. This left four potential first cupholders: Werder Bremen, 1. FC Köln, FC Schalke 04, or Meidericher SV.
It is unclear which match was played first, so we need to consider what each scenario leads to. A win by Werder Bremen, Meidericher SV, or 1. FC Köln all lead to the same Infinity Cup winner. However, a win by FC Schalke 04 would result in a different Infinity Cup winner.
Both of these scenarios ultimately lead to the same winner in the second Infinity Cup season, meaning that after this season, all scenarios converge.
Since we had to choose one team for the initial round, we selected a team from the first group, which eventually became Werder Bremen.
