Season Recap

Bayern Munich secured the Bundesliga title in the 2002/2003 season, claiming their 20th German top division championship under the management of Ottmar Hitzfeld. Stuttgart finished as runners-up, while Borussia Dortmund secured third place.

The top scorer of the season were Giovane Élber of Bayern Munich and Thomas Christiansen of Vfl Bochum, who both netted 21 goals.

The newly promoted teams this season were Hannover 96, Arminia Bielefeld and VfL Bochum. Relegated from the previous season were SC Freiburg, 1. FC Köln and FC St. Pauli, who did not participate in the 2002/2003 campaign.
