Aston Villa holds the Infinity Cup and prepares to face struggling Tottenham
Aston Villa became the new holders of the Infinity Cup after beating Bournemouth in the previous round. They will now defend it against Tottenham, who are having a difficult season and currently sit in 17th place.
Despite their poor league form, Tottenham has a strong recent record away at Villa Park. They have won eight of their last nine visits. Villa’s only home win in that stretch came during the 2022/23 season.
Villa enters the match in good form, having won seven of their last eight league games. Tottenham, on the other hand, has taken just one point from their last five league matches and appears to be focusing more on European competition.
Earlier this season, Spurs won 4–1 at home, and they also won 4–0 in Birmingham last season. They remain active in Europe and will face Manchester United in the upcoming Europa League final.
After Tottenham, Villa’s next two matches are against Manchester United and Brighton & Hove, both of whom remain in contention for the Infinity Cup as the season nears its conclusion.
