Fenerbahçe won the title, their 15th league championship, under coach Christoph Daum. Trabzonspor finished second, and Beşiktaş came in third.
The top scorer was Zafer Biryol (Konyaspor) with 25 goals.
Newly promoted teams Konyaspor, Çaykur Rizespor and Akçaabat Sebatspor replaced Altay SK, Göztepe SK and Kocaelispor, who were relegated.
This season was notable for Fenerbahçe’s strong defensive record.
