PSV Eindhoven won their 20th title, with Ronald Koeman as coach. Ajax finished second, and AZ Alkmaar came in third.
The top scorer was Afonso Alves (Heerenveen) with an incredible 34 goals.
Newly promoted team was Excelsior who replaced RBC Roosendaal, who were relegated.
This season was notable for Alves’ record-breaking goal tally, one of the highest in Eredivisie history.
