PSV Eindhoven secured their 18th title, coached by Guus Hiddink. Ajax finished second, and AZ Alkmaar had a strong season to take third.
Dirk Kuyt (Feyenoord) was the top scorer with 29 goals.
Promoted teams FC Den Bosch and De Graafschap replaced FC Zwolle and FC Volendam.
This season was notable for AZ Alkmaar’s rise as a serious contender.
