Season 2000-2001

Season Recap

The 2000/2001 Eredivisie season saw PSV Eindhoven crowned champions, securing their 16th league title. Coached by Eric Gerets, PSV’s success was driven by the goal-scoring form of Mateja Kežman, who finished as the league’s top scorer with 24 goals. Feyenoord came in second, while Ajax finished third.

Newcomers NAC Breda, Groningen and RBC Roosendaal joined the league, replacing relegated sides MVV, Cambuur and Den Bosch.

A notable highlight was Ajax failing to finish in the top two for the first time since 1994/95, showcasing the league’s growing competitiveness.
