Season Recap
The 2000/2001 Serie A season was won by Roma, coached by Fabio Capello. Juventus finished second, and Lazio secured third place.
The top scorer was Hernán Crespo of Lazio, with 26 goals.
Newly promoted teams included Vicenza, Atalanta, Brescia and Napoli, while Torino, Venezia FC, Cagliari and Piacenza were relegated from the previous season.
An interesting fact: This was Roma’s first Serie A title in 18 years, and their victory was celebrated by over a million fans in the streets of Rome.
