Three teams joined Ligue 1 this season: Metz, Lens, and Caen, all promoted from Ligue 2. On the other hand, Sochaux, Valenciennes and Ajaccio were relegated after failing to maintain their top-flight status.
PSG’s title win was part of a historic domestic treble, as they also won the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue, marking one of the greatest seasons in the club’s history.
