2008/2009 Season
Bordeaux won their 6th Ligue 1 title under manager Laurent Blanc, with Marseille finishing second and Lyon in third.
André-Pierre Gignac of Toulouse was the top scorer with 24 goals.
This season saw the arrival of three new teams: Le Havre, Nantes and Grenoble., who earned promotion from Ligue 2. Meanwhile, Lens, Strasbourg and Metz were relegated after struggling in the previous campaign.
Bordeaux’s title win was their first in 10 years, as they played an attractive brand of football under Blanc.
