Three teams joined Ligue 1 this season: Toulouse, Ajaccio, and Auxerre, all promoted from Ligue 2. On the other hand, Bordeaux, Metz and Saint-Étienne were relegated after failing to maintain their top-flight status.
PSG’s title win was part of a domestic double, as they also won the Coupe de France, showcasing their continued dominance in French football.
