Chelsea, managed by José Mourinho, won their first Premier League title, ending the campaign with a record 95 points. Arsenal finished second, and Manchester United took third.

Thierry Henry won the Golden Boot scoring 25 goals.

The promoted teams were Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion, and Crystal Palace, replacing Leicester City, Leeds United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A fascinating detail: Chelsea conceded only 15 goals all season, a record low at the time.
