Bursaspor won the title, their first-ever league championship, under coach Ertuğrul Sağlam. Fenerbahçe finished second, and Galatasaray came in third.
The top scorer was Ariza Makukula (Kayserispor) with 21 goals.
Newly promoted teams Manisaspor, Diyarbakırspor and Kasımpaşa replaced Konyaspor, Kocaelispor and Hacettepe SK, who were relegated.
This season was historic for Bursaspor, as they broke the traditional dominance of the “Big Three.”
