Beşiktaş won the title, their 12th league championship, under coach Mustafa Denizli. Sivasspor finished second, and Trabzonspor came in third.
The top scorer was Milan Baroš (Galatasaray) with 20 goals.
Promoted teams Kocaelispor, Antalyaspor and Eskişehirspor replaced Manisaspor, Çaykur Rizespor and Kasımpaşa, who were relegated.
This season was significant for Beşiktaş’s strong finish under Denizli.
