Fenerbahçe won the title, their 17th league championship, under coach Zico. Beşiktaş finished second, and Galatasaray came in third.
The top scorer was Alex de Souza (Fenerbahçe) with 19 goals.
Promoted teams Bursaspor, Antalyaspor and Sakaryaspor replaced Malatyaspor, Samsunspor and Diyarbakırspor, who were relegated.
This season was significant for Alex de Souza’s leadership and creativity.
