Season Recap
VfL Wolfsburg clinched their first Bundesliga title in the 2008/2009 season under the management of Felix Magath. Bayern Munich finished as runners-up, while VfB Stuttgart secured third place.
The top scorer of the season was Grafite of VfL Wolfsburg, who netted 28 goals.
The newly promoted teams this season were Borussia Mönchengladbach, 1899 Hoffenheim and 1. FC Köln. Relegated from the previous season were1. FC Nürnberg, Hansa Rostock and MSV Duisburg, who did not participate in the 2008/2009 campaign.
