Season 2003-2004

Season Recap

Valencia won their second title in three years under Rafael Benítez, with Barcelona finishing second and Deportivo La Coruña in third.

Ronaldo Nazário of Real Madrid was the top scorer with 24 goals.

The promoted teams were Real Murcia, Real Zaragoza, and Albacete, while Recreativo, Alavés, and Rayo Vallecano were relegated the previous season.

A fascinating detail: This was Valencia’s last title under Benítez, who left for Liverpool shortly after.
