Season 2000-2001

Season Recap

The 2000/2001 English Premier League season was won by Manchester United, managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, with Arsenal finishing second and Liverpool third.

The top goal scorer was Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink of Chelsea, with 23 goals.

Newly promoted teams were Charlton Athletic, Manchester City, and Ipswich Town, replacing Wimbledon, Sheffield Wednesday, and Watford, who were relegated the previous season.

An interesting fact is that Ipswich Town, newly promoted, finished an impressive fifth, qualifying for the UEFA Cup.
